Alterra Europe – Single Company Project

This webpage has been created to guide stakeholders through Alterra Group’s Irish “Single Company Project”. This involved the merger by acquisition of Alterra Reinsurance Europe plc (formerly known as Alterra Reinsurance Europe Limited) (“Alterra Reinsurance”) and Alterra Europe plc (formerly known as Alterra Europe Limited) (“Alterra Europe”).

Merger Date – 31 October 2011 at 11.59 pm

The Irish High Court confirmed the occurrence of the merger with effect from 31 October 2011 at 11.59 pm (Irish time).

From the month starting 1 November 2011, the surviving company is Alterra Europe and it has assumed all the obligations of Alterra Reinsurance. Alterra Reinsurance has been dissolved, by order of the Irish High Court.

Alterra Europe underwrites insurance and reinsurance business from its head office in Dublin, as well as from its branch offices in London and Zurich.
